22 January – 4 February, 2012 (Vernissage 22 January from 5pm till 9pm)

Dictators is a series of mixed media of pen and ink and watercolor artwork created by artist Michele Boccamazzo. He explores the charm of the dictatorship that comes out from the cult of personality, the mythology and the respect from the democratic countries. Some of them are just born with a silver spoon in their mouth, some believe in their vision of a better world and some are just status seeker(or social climber) with a smart politic career. At the some time their faces look like normal: like the next door good looking guy or the post office employee we meet every day. Despite the portraits are made from a picture from the past all the people are still in charge in their countries.

Michele Boccamazzo is a 28 year old Italian artist from Isernia, Italy. Studied art at the University of Florence and achieved a masters degree in video production at the Universtiy Cattolica in Milano. He has been working as a creative director in advertising and cross media agencies in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
